Terms of Service
Last updated: September 6, 2026
QR Cool makes QR codes that are not boring. These terms are the boring part — we kept them short and honest.
1. The service
QR Cool (qrcool.me) generates static QR codes in your browser and hosts dynamic QR codes: short links on our domain whose destination you can change after printing. The service is operated from Brazil.
2. Accounts
Dynamic codes require an account (email and password). You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe. You can delete your account yourself, any time, on your account page — it deletes your codes and their scan history immediately, and reaches our rolling backups within 35 days. Prefer a human? Write to support@qrcool.me.
3. Plans and limits
The free plan includes unlimited static codes and 2 dynamic codes with up to 500 counted scans per code per calendar month. Past that limit the code continues to redirect normally — we only stop recording scan statistics until the next month.
Some accounts carry a founding badge from our early-access period: they keep access to the full Studio design gallery and hold up to 10 dynamic codes, with the free plan's scan counting. The badge was granted automatically at signup and is now closed to new accounts. For the accounts that have it, these benefits are permanent — being early should mean something.
There is no paid plan today: nothing on this site can be purchased, and no payment details are collected anywhere. A paid plan is planned and will add capacity and features; we will announce it by email to the address on your account before it opens. If a paid subscription ever ends, your codes revert to free-plan behavior: they keep redirecting, and features beyond the free plan lock. We never deactivate a code because a subscription ended.
4. The promise: we never kill your codes
Dynamic codes do not expire. They remain active for as long as your account exists, on any plan, at no cost. If an account is inactive for a very long period, we will email the address on file with reasonable notice before any deactivation — never silently.
If QR Cool is ever discontinued, we commit to: (a) at least 12 months of advance notice by email; (b) a tool to export your codes and destinations; (c) a window to point each code at a final destination; and (d) keeping existing redirects working for at least 3 years after the shutdown notice period ends.
5. Your content and destinations
You own your destinations and are responsible for them. You may not use QR Cool to point at phishing, malware, or anything illegal in Brazil or in the jurisdiction of the people scanning your code. Destinations targeting private networks or this service itself are blocked technically.
We may disable a code that violates these rules. A disabled code stops redirecting and fails visibly — codes are never silently redirected elsewhere.
6. Service quality
The service is provided "as is". We work to keep redirects fast and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and are not liable for indirect damages arising from downtime or from the content of destinations.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email to account holders with reasonable notice. The commitments in section 4 will not be weakened retroactively for existing codes.
8. Law and contact
These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Support is answered within 3 business days — usually much faster. Questions: support@qrcool.me. See also our Privacy Policy.
